I swear my dappled dachshund Lexie knows when something is up… She gives me this ‘look’ which i haven’t managed to capture a photo off. Kind of like a mother hen look.. She comes up to my bedroom and then just stands there and looks at me as if to say ‘are you ok’ and this photo below i managed this morning after a getting shitty nights sleep. She usually doesn’t hang with me in the mornings as Harper is there but she wouldn’t leave me alone this morning….i reckon she knew that i wasn’t feeling flash after waking every few hours and having heartburn this morning…
She did the same thing after my surgeries as well, always just coming up into my room and then looking up at me on my bed and then tottering off. There was one day i think she did it 3-4 times a day which was straight after the mastectomy. And then as i had a huge cut right across from middle of my chest to left arm she knew not to step on me there either… She would in turn climb on my right shoulder for cuddles and then when i had the port surgery she knew not to step there either ….. she is a special dachshund that one
Lexie and her little sis Harper have their own facebook page cause i think they are super special if you would like to follow there crazy adventures Lexie & Harper Facebook Page
I think we underestimate the capacity animals have for empathy. She is a special little dog and I’m glad you have her.
